Transportation Instructions
IMPORTANT:
If you are arranging your own transportation please locate your district and ask your driver to pick you up at the suggested departure time so you can arrive to the visit location on time. You will also find suggestions on return times so you can ask your driver to be ready for pick-up at the starting point after the visit is finished. Location coordinates and instructions are also available below.
All starting points are off the beaten path and have no signaling so please make sure you have the instructions with you. Please keep in mind some local phone servers have no signal near the access roads. There is no public transportation in the starting point locations nor is it possible to find taxis on site.
Make sure you make all the arrangements prior to your visit. If you wish to request transportation service with us you may do so in your reservation form (modification link sent on confirmation email until 48 hours before your visit date). If you are not sure in which district your hotel is located please ask at the front desk of your hotel or click here for possible hints. (Keep in mind sometimes hotel addresses only include the province name and not the exact district name. Reservation offices usually have the same information and may not be aware of your district location).

Llama Pack Base Camp – Pumahuanca View Map
Once in Urubamba, head up the Pumahuanca Valley, towards Chupani, once you see the entrance to Piscigranja Arariwa (Arariwa fish farm) do NOT turn left, just keep going upwards until the next left. (You will see two electricity posts between the two roads, take the left, cross the river, as soon as you have crossed the river you will see a brown gate on your left. That is the place.
You may request for your interpreter to wait for you in the Llama Pack Office located in downtown Urubamba so he can show you the way. This has to be requested by email at least 48 hours in advance.
Locate your district to find the suggested departure time so you can arrive on time to the starting point.

Or if road conditions are not optimal due to weather: Hacienda Huaran, from here you will change vehicle and continue in a local truck.
Head to Huaran town and take a detour towards Saywapata (approximate 30 minutes through dirt road. If road access is affected by rain or lack of maintenance head to the town of Huaran and just take the detour until you reach the Hacienda Huaran.
